Cascais is a municipality where the central and local government and civil society (non-profit organisations, social security, volunteers) are mobilised in an effective commitment to social development and meeting the needs of the people who live here, with particular attention to the most vulnerable.

Cascais + Solidarity Programme
Aims to guarantee Cascais residents in a situation of proven socio-economic vulnerability immediate material support (in the form of food, hygiene and/or cash support) for their basic subsistence needs, in order to prevent the situation of social risk from worsening.

Food Basket
A food response that involves receiving food baskets with dry and/or fresh food, free of charge, distributed by organisations in the municipality, with the aim of making up for food shortages and, at the same time, combating food waste. All the information here

Social Grocery
A food response that resembles traditional commerce (neighbourhood grocery stores) in the purchase of food, which can be chosen by the people themselves, according to their personal and cultural profile, through a system of credits that are allocated monthly to each family.

Social Canteen
Meals from the Social Canteens, provided free of charge or at a symbolic price, are aimed at people and families with low economic resources who have difficulty cooking their own meals.

Food Support Programme
This programme provides meals at home on weekdays, weekends and public holidays. It is aimed primarily at elderly people living in the municipality of Cascais, in a situation of temporary or permanent dependence, who are economically deprived, living in isolation and/or dependent on the help of others for their activities of daily living, namely in terms of purchasing and cooking food.
