The results of this survey give the municipality a broader perspective and will contribute to the promotion/implementation of programmes aimed at improving the sports development of primary school pupils.

Our thanks to the 1,569 parents who took part in this questionnaire, representing 31 per cent of the primary school community, contributing their experience and opinion, thus helping to gather useful information.

Data confirms a positive path
We know how parents' choices affect their children's lives. The responses to this questionnaire confirm a growing collective awareness of the benefits of adopting a healthy lifestyle. Mixing physical exercise with a dose of balanced nutrition, adding moments of leisure, between games and laughter, are some of the pillars that form part of a healthier lifestyle.

Physical Activity
Around 60 per cent of respondents believe that physical activity in schools contributes to good physical and motor development. It should be emphasised that 67% believe that their child should have more physical activity at school.

Food
When asked about the foods most consumed at breakfast, the figures reflect growing caution, with cereals at the top of the "food chain" and cakes in last place with 7%.

Activities/leisure
The data is optimistic, with 92% of respondents confirming that their children usually play in public spaces. In terms of access, around 90 per cent live close to spaces where children can play.
