Living Lab Cascais (LLC) is a place for experimenting with innovative solutions. Praça do Junqueiro, in Carcavelos, is the stage for this technological laboratory, a physical space that aims to develop the concept of Smart Cities in a real environment.
The LLC aims to associate technology with the development and innovation of cities, involving citizens and companies in the process of co-creation and experimentation.
It is a living laboratory, open to start-ups wishing to test an innovative solution. To this end, it has an infrastructure with modular solutions.

- Smart street lighting: 13 5G columns were placed that make mobile internet with greater speed for downloads and uploads, wider coverage and more stable connections.
- Multifunction: the smart columns have 4 chargers for electric cars.
- Interactive Displays: they allow information and interaction options to be associated with the citizen shop, payment of parking meters and requests for scooters and bicycles. They will also allow you to receive information on C02 levels, temperatures and forecasts through the air quality station.

Who can use LL Cascais?
Any entity/person with an idea or project in the Smart Cities field can submit an application to use LL Cascais.
Who will review LL Cascais applications?
Every application will be reviewed by the 3 promotors every 2 weeks.
Is there a minimum duration of usage?
In order to be possible to manage several projects simultaneously and give the necessary support a minimum of 3 months of LL Cascais allocation is required
Is there a cost to use LL Cascais?
Yes, there is. It will vary pending on the project and necessary resources. But every project will have to pay a setup fee.
Is LL Cascais available 24x7?
Yes, nevertheless it is necessary to bear in mind that LL Cascais is a living lab in an residential area. Therefore sound and work limitations might be imposed.
Is it necessary to present a work plan?
Yes, it is. At LL Cascais we will have a real community living and working there that deserve all our respect. And some of the tests might require the presence of local authorities
